Main Points
The taranto choreography is almost complete; we reviewed the second part of the tangos section, danced over the falseta (instrumental guitar passage) following the first letra (sung verse).
Refining natural body movement: freer arms and body, allowing each dancer’s own fluidity to emerge.
Work on the escobilla (footwork section) and contratiempos (offbeat accents): emphasis and clear footwork to stay within the compás (rhythmic cycle).
Reviewing the simple steps at the beginning of the escobilla: finding precision and enjoyment in simplicity.
Developing a deeper understanding that a simple step is not necessarily easy: it creates space to savor the dance.

Goals for the Next Class
Consolidate the complete escobilla with a steady compás and clear offbeat accents.
Prepare the final section of the taranto, creating a beautiful stage ending for the 2026 End-of-Year Performance (February 28).
Maintain natural, harmonious body movement throughout the choreography.
Enjoy the simple steps and let them breathe, filling them with duende (flamenco’s expressive depth and emotional intensity) and stage presence.

Teacher’s Observations
The class progressed harmoniously in a positive atmosphere. The students show great commitment and sensitivity in their taranto. Their work on natural body movement is beginning to flourish. Despite the rhythmic complexity of the offbeat accents, their progress is remarkable. The free YouTube Live broadcast was very well received and strengthens the group’s shared learning.

Continuity Plan
The next session will focus on completing the choreography with new creative nuances for the 2026 End-of-Year Performance. Students are encouraged to watch the reference video and practice offbeat accents at home with a metronome (60 → 80 bpm).
